Si ya habían tocado “Word up”… Pues sí, y no os podéis imaginar qué versión: ¡¡¡ “Fight for your right” de los Beastie Boys!!

In love.

One of my dreams came true, something I was wishing for since I was very young. I could finally see that band that I discovered in my first years of high school and that I fell in love with from the first listen.  Yes, I could finally see Gun live.

After so many years listening to their records, it was something I knew I needed to do and I finally got it.  And in Gijón, in the city where I've been living for a couple of years. And thanks to a change of schedule, as there was no guest band, which allowed me to go even though I thought I would not be able to attend.

Throughout my life I have been to thousands of concerts and festivals, but this one... it made me feel a joy inside me that many have not achieved. Because song after song, all familiar, all heard so many times, all of them I knew by heart, all of them sounded incredible.

They started strong, charming, friendly, with a brutal complicity, and with great songs from the beginning. What's more, their famous version of "Word up", which we were all waiting for the end, sounded as the fourth song of the setlist, after the wonderful "Don't say it's over", one of my all time favorites.

And despite the changes in the line-up, Gun have not lost their spark, their class or their quality, and they proved it during the 15 songs they played, each one better than the last. A perfect compendium of all their albums, in which I enjoyed like a little girl jumping, dancing, chanting, especially in the last half of the show when they chained several of my favorite songs in a row: "Real World", "Better days", "Inside out", "Steal your fire", "Taking on the world" and "Shame on you". A marvel.

And after this sonorous ecstasy, to finish, a cover. A cover? You may ask... If they had already played "Word up"... Well yes, and you can't imagine what a cover: "Fight for your right" by the Beastie Boys!!!

I don't know if I liked more the sound during the whole show, the songs or the good vibe with the audience. But what is clear is that Gun are still the great band that captivated me so many years ago.

And that's without forgetting the great moment after the concert when the whole band came to the merch to greet all their fans. I love them.

From here, humbly, we want to thank the band, organizers and the venue for such a magical night, that we will never forget. In love.
