ZOMBIES NO: CÓMO UN DISCO DE 2022 PUEDE HACER REVIVIR TU ADOLESCENCIA

 

Hace unos días cayó en mis manos lo nuevo de la banda francesa  (o más bien internacional) Zombies No…y estoy anonadada. Y no dejo de hacerme dos preguntas: ¿Por qué no los he conocido antes? y ¿por qué  no vienen más cerca a tocar en su próxima gira por la península?

“The Big Reset” es lo nuevo de esta banda de skatepunk/hardcore melódico que con su sonido propio y su estilo irreverente nos ha conquistado.

No, no voy a hacer la típica reseña desgranando o destripando cada tema. Básicamente, porque no sé qué es más aburrido, si para mí escribirla o para vosotros leer algo así. Así que hoy, una tarde de domingo, desde el pequeño salón de mi casa, os voy a contar levemente lo que me ha parecido.

Sí os voy a contar que comienza con una intro que, casualmente, no podréis escuchar en Spotify que enlaza al primer tema, “Unnecesary Thoughts”, y que ya nos va dando una idea de cómo va a ser esta maravilla de trabajo en el que la banda.

Durante doce temas, Zombies No dejan volar su imaginación tanto en su característico sonido como en sus elaboradas letras para llevarnos a su particular paraíso punk rock, aquel que disfrutábamos tanto en los 90 y 2000, y en el que, con su peculiar estilo que tal vez, por compararlo con algo, podría ser una preciosa mezcla de bandas como Lagwagon unida a Satanic Surfers con un toque de tantas otras… Y eso, amigxs, es lo que los hace tan especiales.

Y es por ello por lo que habrá algunos suertudos que tendréis la oportunidad de verlos en directo en su nueva gira europea. Y como estas rubias no podremos acudir, os rogamos, os imploramos, que no os lo perdáis, que lo disfrutéis tanto como nosotras lo haríamos… tanto, como yo, personalmente, he disfrutado este discazo.

Y ante todo, mil gracias a 20ChordsRecords por  darnos la oportunidad de descubrir bandas que, en otras circunstancias, tal vez no habrían llegado a nuestras vidas.

A few days ago I got my hands on the new album by the French (or rather international) band Zombies No...and I'm stunned. And I can't stop asking myself two questions: Why haven't I met them before? and why don't they come closer to play in their next tour around the peninsula?

"The Big Reset" is the new release from this skatepunk/melodic hardcore band that with their own sound and irreverent style has conquered us. 

No, I'm not going to do the typical review by shredding or gutting each track. Basically, because I don't know what is more boring, if for me to write it or for you to read something like this. So today, on a Sunday afternoon, from the small living room of my house, I am going to tell you what I thought of it. 

I am going to tell you that it begins with an intro that, coincidentally, you will not be able to listen to on Spotify that links to the first track, "Unnecesary Thoughts", and that already gives us an idea of how this marvelous work is going to be, in which the band, during twelve tracks, lets its imagination fly both in its character and in the way it sounds, lets their imagination fly both in their characteristic sound and in their elaborate lyrics to take us to their particular punk rock paradise, the one we enjoyed so much in the 90's and 2000's, and in which, with their peculiar style that perhaps, to compare it with something, could be a precious mixture of bands like Lagwagon joined to Satanic Surfers with a touch of so many others... And that, my friends, is what makes them so special.

And that's why there will be some lucky ones who will have the chance to see them live on their new European tour. And since these blondes won't be able to attend, we beg you, we implore you, don't miss it, enjoy it as much as we would... as much as I, personally, have enjoyed this great album.
